rescued
Yesterday we went to a park and found two boys trying to rescue a bird. He was stuck under a shingle on the bathroom pavilioun. We had to get our car under it so that we could reach it. It had a rope tied around its leg and it got caught on the roof. We got the rope off and it flew away. The 2 boys were so cute and saw the bird rescued. It was kind of fun. There was another bird that flew in and out of our scene and was trying to protect it at one point. Cornel was definately the boys hero for the day.
My eyes are straight!
Well on June 24, Cornel had eye muscle surgery to correct his lazy eye. After a week, his eyes look better, still a little red. This was his biggest risk yet in his life he said. I was just happy that after surgery he could see me with one of his eyes, the other one being covered. Click on this picture to make it bigger. Both eyes, not just one, are straight now. It looks really good! His eye is still hurting him now, but it will get better, and we are going to the doctor on July 9 for a followup. It was a busy weeks last week.

Yesterday
Well, we have all been waiting for this moment.....and all wanted to see it happen when she was still 1 year old....and so yesterday....she walked by herself....2 steps.....and will not do it again. We had some friends over and while Corneliu, Marianna, and myself were finishing eating, Stephanie called from the other room "she did it!" It is hard because I did not see the first ones and neither did Corneliu. 17-1/2 months and she finally walks =-). She beat her cousin who was fastly catching up. Sorry that I do not have a picture. Stephanie was walking with her and let her hand go and before Cassandra noticed, she had made 2 steps. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yeah for Cassandra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

smiles
flowers
Well, what would summer be without flowers? We tried real ones this year and hopefully they will stand up to the winds and rains and heat. I think that Cassandra likes them a lot. She was looking at them while I fed her her bottle this morning (Cornel worked on them last night when she was in bed) and throughout the day. She wants to tough them and probably would eat them, if I wasn't careful. She ate sand at the park the other day, I got most of it out though. Well anyways, these are some pictures.

recent pictures
My friend from highschool, Alie, came over with her 2 boys a week or so ago. The first picture has her first son in it in the back. Also, this walker is helping Cassandra gain confidence in her walking. I hope that it will be any time now. In the second picture, Cassandra is enthralled with Alie's baby. She likes little ones.
